More about me

I’m a senior journalist, author and editor, focussing mostly on I.T.

I was born in Lancashire and raised in south Manchester, United Kingdom.

From an early age I knew I wanted to write, and was encouraged by teachers and friends.

I graduated with a first class degree that combined my love of writing with literature and cultural studies, as well as documentary production and photography.

A career in computer magazine journalism followed.

In recent times I’ve been pursuing writing projects while running a poetry publishing company as a part-time concern.

I live in Manchester and my pastimes include taking part in the poetry scene, running the Manchester Vegetarian and Vegan Group and walking.

People often ask the origins of my name. “Keir” has Scottish origins and I was named after James Keir Hardie, a prominent Scottish politician.

Keir Thomas walks you through the whole experience from beginning to end, comforting you with a calm voice ... He doesn’t just plunge the reader blindly into complex computer jargon.
